My first post of 2021!!
I KNEW… if I just worked hard, believed in myself, and didn’t give up, I could hit my one post a year quota… and ULTIMATELY… ensure a return on investment when I pay hard earned dollars to keeping this disgusting, filthy, dusty, husk of a site still operational. I can’t tell you all how proud I am of myself, etc etc, obligatory “I am just so busy!!!(sometimes true)”
NOW, before covid hit, the last movie I saw in theaters was the My Hero Academia movie with my wife, and then covid hit(along with all the other madness in the world and in the U.S. it has been a LONG 12+ month stretch to be sure). We used to ALWAYS go see a good movie, between my wife, family, and friends, and hopefully my little daughter one day as she becomes more of a human and less of a monster acting on instinct.
And now, marking the beginning of the end of covid(I HOPE), we begin from where we left off and when the world changed around us… by seeing another movie, and another anime movie at that! There is NOTHING like getting a bunch of nerds together who can all bond over our shared passion! And I have been waiting for a while to have this Demon Slayer movie get here, and so me and my wife and pals are beyond excited to see “Demon Slayer Mugen Train” to kick off the “end” of covid, as vaccines become more and more available, and we put this odd and challenging chapter of history in the rear view mirror. Can’t wait for all the banter and hooting and hollering in the theater… Been a hell of a journey… and there are a lot less of us than when the whole covid thing started… and yet we’ll persist, and push on, and grow along the way.
Make it all worth something, find meaning, and honor those that came before us. Reflecting… I’ve suddenly become very nostalgic for the pre-covid days.
Anyway, I’ll have to leave my thoughts after seeing the movie, and rewatch the last couple episodes as a refresher. But I hope anyone who can, and feels safe enough to do so, gets a chance to go see this in theaters and taste some of that “normal” that we, or at least I, took for granted back in the day.
I hope everyone is doing well, I hope we all continue to move forward and march together towards that bright, and hopefully anime filled, horizon just over yonder. Dr. Stone was a hoot, Re:Zero was… well it had some hype moments! And now this season we have that Eternity anime, My Hero Academia, and Megalo Box(finally… some anime that isn’t about Japanese high school students LOL damn this show is so good and refreshing)!
There is a lot to look forward to and to be thankful for, despite all the downs and BS, just with nerd stuff, the marvel shows Wanda Vision, Falcon and Winter Soldier, Resident Evil 8, Attack on Titan manga just ended… so much interesting content, in addition to friends, family, and the beautiful sun and sky, flowers blooming for spring.. the world is good!
